Our process

From enquiry to handover

A clear, five-step process so you know what happens next, who is responsible and when.

Five steps

How a Swift project runs

Good ground-level works depend on good planning. Our process is designed to remove surprises: we understand the site and the design before we price, agree the program before we start, and check the work at each stage before it is covered.

Whether the job is a single house slab or a large commercial package, every project follows the same five steps.

  1. Enquiry

Send drawings, engineer's details, any geotechnical report and your target start date. The more we have, the more accurate the quote.

  2. Site visit & quote

We walk the site, check access, levels and services, then price the work line by line so you can see exactly what is included.

  3. Program & set-out

Once accepted, we lock in a program that fits your other trades, organise inspections, and set out the works to the approved drawings.

  4. Construct

Crews work to the program with safe work method statements in place. You get regular updates and early notice of anything that affects time or cost.

  5. Handover

We walk the finished works with you, clean up the site and hand over relevant records such as inspection sign-offs and test results.

Safety

Safe sites, every day

Ground works involve heavy plant, open excavations and concrete trucks, often alongside other trades. Safety is planned into every job before work starts, and reviewed every day on site.

  • Site-specific inductions for every worker
  • Safe work method statements for high-risk work
  • Underground services located before excavation
  • Excavations protected and barricaded
  • Plant maintained and operated by competent operators
Quality

Checked before it is covered

Concrete and drainage are hard to fix once buried, so we check them while we still can. Quality control is built into each stage of the work, not left until the end.

  • Levels checked against the design
  • Pre-pour inspections arranged with the engineer or certifier
  • Drainage grades checked before backfill
  • Work completed to the drawings and relevant Australian Standards
  • Records handed over at completion
Communication

You always know where the job is at

From the first phone call, you deal directly with the director. There is no account manager in between, so questions are answered quickly and decisions are made by the person responsible for the work.

During construction you receive regular progress updates. If something on site affects time or cost, such as rock, unknown services or a design change, we tell you straight away, explain the options and agree the way forward before proceeding.

At handover we walk the completed works with you and provide the relevant records, so you or your next trade can carry on with confidence.
